Here's the answer for all your near-space educational needs. Funded by NASA, LPI's web site features lots of interesting information and photos, including a complete digital version of the Lunar Orbiter Photographic Atlas of the Moon at http://www.lpi.usra.edu/research/lunar_orbiter/index.html. This is a portal designed for consumers, and its well-organized pages feature health-related resources of every description: databases, listservs, state and federal agency links, support groups, publications and much more.

InteliHealth is an award-winning site with loads of health-related features—a "symptom scout" to help you diagnose yourself (with appropriate urgings to see your doctor); extensive health topic areas such as cancer, allergies, pregnancy, fitness; a drug resource center, access to medical data bases and lots more.

Mix Gourmet Magazine with Bon Appetit Magazine and voila! You've got a killer web site for food lovers. There are 12,000 recipes in a searchable database, cook book reviews, videos on food prep techniques and lots of opportunities to buy things. After browsing this site for few minutes, you'll think spending $45 for one ounce of white truffle powder is an excellent idea.

Historic Wings
Nicely designed and written, this site features aircraft photos, including screen savers, for every aviation buff. From MIGs to John Glenn's orbital flight to "nose art" painted on WWII aircraft, to a gallery of WWII aircraft carrier-based photos by noted commercial photographer Edward Steichen, you'll find lots to browse here.

Government’s 50 Greatest Endeavors
How well did the government reach its goals in the last 50 years? This Brookings Institution project began with a cataloging of major laws passed since World War II, followed by the grouping of these statutes by their objective, and the selection of the top 50 endeavors for a national survey of historians and political scientists. The survey results identify government’s greatest achievements and failures, taking success, difficulty and importance into account. At the site, you can fill out the same survey online and compare your rankings with those of the historians and political scientists.

National Scenic Byways Online
Road Trip! At National Scenic Byways Online (sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration) you'll find state-by-state data on All-American Roads and National Scenic Byways, and you'll learn the difference between a byway and an ordinary, lovely road.
