How This System Is Used
- This two-part check makes it easier for the end user to look up check information and monitor cash flow.
- The customer began by adding an inexpensive keyboard wedge and pencil wand to a PC in the Accounting Department. This converted the PC from keyboard entry alone to scanned entry as well.
- Next, the customer added a bar coded second part to its payroll checks. After a check is cut, the company retains part two for its files.
- Periodically, the end user will scan the bar codes on part two. By doing this, the company gains two pieces of valuable information: First, it provides a valuable record regarding the checks. And second, the end user can monitor cash flow by going online with their bank to verify which checks have cleared the bank.
- Previously, accounting personnel had to type the check numbers. Now, they simply scan the bar codes. It makes the process faster and more accurate.
