Mergers and Acquisitions in 1992

Editors' note: The following is a partial list of mergers and acquisitions that occurred in 1992. "(D)" denotes a distributorship. All others are manufacturing firms unless otherwise noted.

Apex Business Systems Inc., New Hyde Park, N.Y., merged with Distributors Stock Forms Inc., Addison, Ill.

BGI-Arbor Business Forms Corp. (D), Dayton, Ohio, merged with Eaton Forms Corporation (D), also of Dayton.

Bridge Information Systems Inc. (D), of Arlington Heights, Ill., acquired Business Forms Inc., Chicago (D).

Dispatch Printing, a member of Team Dispatch, Erie, Pa., purchased selected assets and a customer list of Sterling Graphics Inc., Pittsburgh, from Belknap Business Forms, Westfield, N.Y.

Forms and Supplies Inc. (D), Memphis, Tenn., acquired certain assets of Creative Systems Consultants, Jackson, Miss. (D).

Gateway Business Forms, South Gate, Calif., purchased the assets of Western Continuous Forms, Oxnard, Calif.

GBS Forms and Systems (D), North Canton, Ohio, purchased Forms Management Services Inc. (D), Tampa, Fla.

John H. Harland Co., Atlanta, acquired the net assets of Seattle-based Interchecks. Harland also announced plans to buy the assets of Rocky Mountain Bank Note Company, Denver.

Lancer Label of Omaha, Neb., was bought by London-based Porter Chadburn plc. Lancer Label is now a division of Porter Chadburn plc.

Maclean Hunter Inc. of Toronto acquired the Canadian assets of Toronto-based Southam Business Forms, including Southam Paragon Business Forms, Southam Specialty Printing, and Data Management Concepts, Southam Specialty Printing's computer lists operation. Included in the deal, Maclean Hunter's Transkrit Corp., Brewster, N.Y., acquired the assets of Bedinghaus Business Communi-cations in Cincinnati, Southam's U.S. forms manufacturing operation. Shortly after, the Bedinghaus division of Transkrit sold its non-mailer custom business to Quick Tech Business Forms, Springboro, Ohio.

Paper Systems Inc. (D), Englewood, Colo., merged with National Graphics Company (D), Denver. The company now operates under the National Graphics name.

Park Ridge Business Forms (D), Park Ridge, Ill., acquired RCS, Automation Supply Warehouse, a direct order catalog company that sells business forms and computer supplies nationally.

Phoenix R & R of Denver was purchased by PM Company Office Products Division.

Poser Business Forms, a Fairhope, Ala., manufacturer, acquired Castle Multiforms Inc., Shreveport, La.

PRINTGRAPHICS Inc., a Vandalia, Ohio, manufacturer, bought the assets of Forms Express Inc., also of Vandalia.

Reynolds and Reynolds, a Dayton, Ohio-based non-independent, purchased Norick Brothers Inc., Oklahoma City.

Saunders Manufacturing & Marketing of Readfield, Maine, acquired the clipboard and related hardboard products business from Dennison Stationery Products Company.

U.S.E. Foils Inc. and Markem Corporation, Keene, N.H., combined their hot foil operations into a new firm known as ASTOR UNIVERSAL, Lenexa, Kan.

Wilmer Service Line of Dayton, Ohio, the Reynolds and Reynolds operating unit that sells pegboard systems through distributors, purchased the customer lists of Veribest Business Systems, Auburn, Maine, and the wholesale one-write form division of Dealerforms, Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
