Ennis Consolidates; Offers Sales Aids Midlothian, Texas-based Ennis
Inc. announced the consolidation of business produced in its plant in Edison,
N.J., to plants located in Coshocton, Ohio, and Medfield, Mass. The Edison
facility will close after transferring business, equipment and personnel
to the Coshocton and Medfield locations during the next three months. The
consolidation was part of Ennis' original transition plan to reduce overhead
and improve efficiencies from its July 2004 acquisition of Crabar/GBF.
Employees from Edison will be offered positions in the other facilities if the
positions are available. "Along with the closing of the Dayton, Ohio,
administrative facility, this is the last of the transitional location moves
associated with the Crabar/GBF acquisition," said Keith Walters, chairman,
president and CEO of Ennis and a DMIA Board member. "We want to assure our
customers that there will be no impact on the quality or delivery associated
with this relocation of the business currently produced in Edison."
Ennis also announced its new collection of non-branded statement stuffers.
The specialized sales tools are ideal for distributors to include with
sales materials, invoices or statements they send to their customers, according
to the company. The stuffers, which list Ennis' complete product line without
mentioning its name, are available in nine varieties, including promotional
products, business forms and supplies, software-compatible forms, presentation
products, custom forms, financial documents, commercial printing, labels and
tags. The company is selling the stuffers at a special price of $.10 per piece
for 100 of each of the nine versions for a limited time. To order at the special
price, call (800) 972-1069 and mention this news item.

SOLUTION OF THE WEEK
Clients Show Donor Appreciation With Glass Tumblers When
donors to a private school in Massachusetts make meaningful contributions, they
receive a screenprinted crystal tumbler with the school's logo and
the calendar year. Barry Sneirson, sales manager at Future Print Unlimited LLC,
Woburn, Mass., assisted in the creation of the program with a development
associate in the school's alumni office.
When the employee moved to a new position with Brigham and Women's Hospital
in Boston, she took Sneirson and the gift appreciation program with her. The
hospital's existing gift appreciation program when she arrived amounted to a
standard personalized letter. "She convinced them that for certain types of
financial gifts, they should recognize the contributions with something a little
more special than a letter," Sneirson says. <http://www.dmia.org/sol_center/enewsletter/enews_articles/sow032505.html>

SALES AND MARKETING TIP
Do Something Different: Stand Out And Step Up Your
Profits The first step in any sales process is to gain the attention
of your prospective customer. Without doing this, there's no way to get your
message across and no way to make a sale—unless it's by accident. <http://www.workz.com/content/view_content.html?section_id=525&content_id=6759>

E-COMMERCE SPOTLIGHT
How To Find A Perfect Target Market Is your web site
pulling in visitors who are taking action? Unfortunately many small-business
owners today have fallen into the "build it and they will come" mentality. The
owner spends a few hundred or thousand dollars putting up a web site and after a
few months, begins wondering why he or she spent the time, effort and money
necessary to put something online that just doesn't work. <http://www.workz.com/content/view_content.html?section_id=464&content_id=6755>
