R.R. Donnelley & Sons and GSC Partners, an investment firm based in Florham Park, N.J., have announced arrangements that will result in the sale by GSC Partners of its entire 4.8% interest in RR Donnelley for approximately $360 million, including the repurchase of approximately $200 million of GSC Partners' holdings by RR Donnelley in a share repurchase transaction. GSC Partners' Chairman and Chief Executive Alfred C. Eckert III and Robert F. Cummings Jr., a senior advisor to GSC Partners, are directors of R.R. Donnelley. Both recused themselves from the board's consideration of the repurchase.

The company also said this week it is forecasting earnings from continuing operations, excluding items, of 57 cents for the fourth quarter and $1.61 for fiscal 2004. Fiscal 2005 earnings are expected to be $1.95 per share, assuming $200 million shares are repurchased during that year. In addition, the company said it plans to divest its Peak business, which provides integration, maintenance and consulting services related to automatic identification and data collection systems and hardware. The business reported a loss of $5.8 million, on sales of $135.2 million, for the nine months ended Sept. 30. In related news, Moore Canada, an RR Donnelley, Moore Wallace Partnership, announced 3-year extensions to its multiyear, multimillion dollar agreements by Medbuy Corporation to produce a wide range of printed products and services. <http://www.formstore.com> FormStore Launches Digital Print Solutions for Health Care
FormStore Incorporated, Fenton, Mo., has announced a new program to help distributors serve health care industry clients by providing better ways to document procedures, communicate with staff and patients, educate the public and market their institutions. FormStore's Digital Print Solutions Program shows distributors where to find digital print opportunities in their healthcare accounts. "The average hospital or medical center will have a minimum of one digital printing requirement for each bed in that institution," said Paul Edwards, CDC, FormStore's CEO. "That means the distributor can provide even a small community hospital with 50 or 100 different orders for digitally printed documents." Digital printing allows health care clients to create personalized post cards, newsletters, patient identification/insurance cards and targeted correspondence, the company said. FormStore also offers a Health Care Sales Kit that simplifies preparation for the sales call and includes 20 digitally printed health care samples in a digitally printed presentation folder. "We also wanted to make this a fun sales call, so we have included a matching donut box and tissue box," said Edwards.

And the Lexus Winner is ...
<http://www.ennis.com> Ennis recently held a party at its DeWitt, Iowa, facility, and gave away a new Lexus RX330 to the winner of a drawing it sponsored to promote last October's Print Solutions Conference and Expo in Chicago.

Anita Kruse, national accounts manager at <http://www.docuformsinc.com/> DocuForms Inc., Davenport, Iowa, was the lucky winner out of 3,000 total entries collected at the show and online in the months prior to the show. She picked out the colors and features of her Lexus and ordered the vanity license plates that say: ILUVNS. <http://www.dmia.org/art/enewsart/lexuswin.html> Click here for a photo.

DocuForms, listed as one of the fastest-growing distributors in Print Solutions' Top 100, grew 25.7 percent in 2003 with $13.1 million in sales. It is not far from Ennis' DeWitt, Iowa, facility, so Ennis invited everyone from DocuForms for the giveaway celebration, and several co-workers joined Kruse for the party.

"Ennis would like to thank everyone who registered online and at DMIA's Print Solutions Expo in Chicago for the chance to win the Lexus RX330," said Steven Osterloh, Ennis' director of marketing. "We want to congratulate Anita, and we look forward to seeing everyone this year in Orlando and at the various regional TradeMarts."
