Jeff Long, treasurer of DMIA's Board of Directors and a member of the IADT/DMIA Foundation Board of Trustees, opened the conference by telling attendees that "2003 marks the first year that DMIA implemented a structural change. Within DMIA, all members are now equal—that's suppliers, manufacturers and distributors. DMIA's prime purpose is to ensure that product moves effectively through all distribution channels and that all channel participants share intelligence so that the end user can be best served."
