Regional Programs
Regionalization began in 1984 as a way for DMIA to more effectively meet the needs of its growing membership by strengthening communications at the grass roots level. DMIA recognized that while its members shared business printing as a common bond, they had needs unique to their geographic areas. Eight regions were created to respond to the varied demographic and economic needs, problems and expectations specific to each geographic location.
On Nov. 1, 2003, the former Membership Liaison title was changed to Regional Director. Directors are appointed directly by the DMIA Board of Directors for one-year terms. At a minimum, one Regional Director will be appointed from each of the eight DMIA regions. As part of DMIA's volunteer leadership, Regional Directors will continue to act as information conduits from the membership to the board, and they will assist in providing input for educational programs and content, Local Forums, committee chairs, recruitment/retention and any other activities that advance the overall interests of the association.
